Alzheimers disease community advocate Brandon BurkeBrandon Burke is a Maryland native who has lived in the D.C. area for nearly 20+ years. He has a degree in Marketing from Hampton University and is currently a licensed realtor in DC and co-owner of Thurst Lounge.
In 2015, Brandon’s father, Gary Burke, was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s, thrusting Brandon into the role of caregiver. Since then, Brandon has authored the book “Rediscovering Dad and Discovering Myself, A Journey Through the Impact of Alzheimer’s,” written several blogs, and participated in campaigns with the National Alzheimer’s Association. He hopes that his efforts can touch the lives of those who are impacted by this disease to bring awareness to and hopefully one day have a cure for Alzheimer’s.
