Interview With the Alzheimer's Association: Support, Clinical Research, and Hope for a Cure

Many of you may be familiar with the Alzheimer's Association. This national non-profit organization supports those who have Alzheimer's disease and all other dementia with a 24/7 helpline and support groups. The organization hosts awareness and fundraising events like the Walk to End Alzheimer's, as anyone who has read one of my posts will know, and The Longest Day.

A driver of clinical research

But what you may not know is that the Alzheimer's Association is also a driver of clinical research to identify and develop a cure for the disease. It also supports advocacy initiatives through its partner organization, Alzheimer's Impact Movement, to ensure that the needs of those with dementia and their community are met at both state and federal levels of government.

Here, I discuss the latter with Kristina L. Fransel, Region 13 Leader and Delaware Valley Chapter Executive Director of the Alzheimer's Association.
