Caregiving for a loved one by yourself

I was a solo caregiver for my mom, with the Alzheimer's Disease diagnosis. It was difficult. I often felt alone, wasn't sleeping, and was physically/ emotionally exhausted. Felt like I was riding a rollercoaster of emotions at all times.

I found it helpful to seek out supports groups, sought out a mental health counselor, learned how to navigate the Medicare and Medicaid system, and many other things.

I would love to know some tips that have helped you to better manage being a caregiver?

Also, emotionally, how do you manage the rollercoaster of emotions that comes with caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's Disease?

I look forward to reading everyones responses. Thanks AlzheimersDisease.net family!!!
