What are ways to provide emotional support for your loved one?

Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's disease can be an exceptionally stressful and emotional journey for both the caregiver and the person with Alzheimer's. If you are a caregiver for someone with AD we want to hear from you:

What are some things that you can do to emotionally support your loved one experiencing Alzheimer's?

  1. One of the most common issue I've seen is overly correcting. Remember if it's not going to put them in danger let it go. It's their reality not yours, why cause more confusion and anxiety for all involved.

    1. I am learning this. It's easy for me to want to "set things straight" and probably cause more anxiety than is already there. Thanks for your input. Scott alzheimersdisease.net team member
