Dad has Alzheimers

Shouldn't drive or have access to guns, but mom won't budge

  1. Thank you for sharing your Dads diagnosis with our community . It can be so difficult as our loved ones decline due to this devastating disease. We watch them change and we know we have to make changes to adjust to this new normal behavior by our loved ones. You sound very concerned about your Dad having access to a car and to guns in his diminished capacity. I would really try to talk to your Mom about your concerns and explain how dangerous this could be to your Dad and to others. I would also share your concerns with your Dads Doctor; maybe they can then talk to your Mom about these very real concerns. We will be thinking of you and your parents. We are here for you. Warmly, Pam-Community Moderator

    1. How are things going? I know it's rough, especially now with everything going on. We are here for you and want to help. There are a lot of resources on this site. There is also the Facebook page. Hang in there. You are not alone. Kathy M alzheimersdisease.net team member.
