Has anyone read the book, "The End of Alzheimers" ?

Dr Dale Bredeson's book says that including vitamins and minerals and fish oil and/or cod liver oil and VItamin D in the diet , can resolve some of the difficult behaviors.

I have tried it with my mom and she is less argumentative. Also I got her on bio identical hormones.

She still thinks she needs to go somewhere or go back home though.

  1. Hi . It is so great to hear that your mom is being less argumentative; I am sure it makes the days calmer for both of you! While there is no scientific cure for Alzheimer's disease, there are definitely lifestyle and dietary factors that can impact one's behaviors. It is always important to consult your loved one's physician before making any alterations in treatment or medication or if you notice behavioral changes. Do you have anything that helps your mom when she does become more argumentative? Warmly, Patty, Team Member

    1. really appreciate you reaching out. I have not yet read the book you are referring to. I look forward to checking it out though. Glad to hear that you have noticed some positive changes in relation to your mom's behaviors.
I personally do a lot of research for my own chronic condition and both of my parents had theAlzheimer's diagnosis. It's interesting the different theories that are out there.
I know with my own personal journey with introducing more of a holistic approach to treating my disease, I'm just very good with having a conversation with my doctor. I always want to make sure that anything I ingest in my body does not interact with any medication that I take.
If you haven't already done so I encourage you to just make your mom's doctor's aware of any changes in her diet or intake. Super glad you are seeing positive benefits for her. I also have been reading some upcoming research that really focuses on the brain-gut connection in Alzheimer's Disease. I have attached an article that I wrote on this topic for your review.

I am really excited that researchers are starting to focus more on different approaches to battle Alzheimer's Disease. Would love to hear your thoughts on the article.
