How much television does your loved one watch a day?

It is so easy to put my loved one in front of a television in order to gt others things done. How helpful is it for her? I am trying to understand.

  1. My partner wouldn't understand most tv shows be they old dramas or new news shows. The dialog is too fast and the events depend on some memory of what had happened before.

    1. Thank you for your reply. I am in the same situation. My loved one has very little understand of what is going on but seems entertained. I just get concerned about her watching violent or aggressive acts without any way to process them. Does that bother your partner? Scott AlzheimersDisease.net Team member

  2. What type of shows would you recommend? My sister called ”murder she wrote” a killing show, which made me think we should pick some thing milder. But what?

    1. I recommend checking out Hallmark or some of the family shows of a while back like The Waltons or Little House on the Prairie. Game shows can be interesting and have happy endings most of the time. They are normally upbeat and people win things, which is fun. I find that many of the shows from the 1960-80s are milder in their content, but not all of them. Those are places to start. Scott AlzheimersDisease.net Team Member
