My husband has just recently started waking up in the middle of the night convinced he has to get dressed and "get some work done". I'm wondering if Donepezil is keeping him awake.
Hi . Everyone's experiences are different and it is important, if you haven't already, to speak with your husband's doctor about any medications that he is on as there might be need for some adjustments. I hope community members will chime in here with their experiences, but, in the meantime, I wanted to share an article on coping with sundowning which includes some ideas for managing symptoms: https://alzheimersdisease.net/living/caregiver-tips-sundowning. Have you tried any of these in the past? What has your experience been? Warmly, Patty, AlzheimersDisease.net Team Member

Hi CommunityMember464,
According to Mayo Clinic, Donepezil , can cause insomnia. So as Patty said, it's definitely something to discuss with your doctor. If he is using it for either cholesterol control, or to help improve cognition, there are so many options available now that may not cause other issues. - Warmly, Donna (team member)
