How to handle a person with Alzheimer's who doesn't think anything is wrong with them even after a diagnosis? They blame everything on the caregiver.

  1. Hi being a caretaker can be very challenging, especially for someone who is refusing or acknowledging that they need help. I hope I can help you by sending over some resources for you. There are support groups for caregivers, this is a great space to talk and share with people who are going through similar situations: https://alzheimersdisease.net/caregivers/support-groups. Here are some tips for self care, which is so important: https://alzheimersdisease.net/caregivers/self-care and https://alzheimersdisease.net/living/tips-for-new-caregivers. I am sure this is a lot on you, please keep us posted on how you are doing. Jill (Team Member)

  2. Hi , I just wanted to piggyback off of Jill's comment - You're not alone, and it is not unusual. I wanted to share this article, that I hope will be helpful:

That is their reality. You can take steps to safeguard them, but it will be difficult trying to convince them of the situation outside of their own understanding We're here for you, whenever you need us. - Warmly, Donna (Team Member)

  3. Many thanks to you both.
