Hi . I know it can be frustrating when all you are trying to do is help, and it doesn't seem to go very far. I hope that some community members will chime in with some examples of what has worked for them in the past. In the meantime, I am sharing this article that includes tips for calming a loved one who is agitated - https://alzheimersdisease.net/resources/calming-someone-who-is-agitated. If you haven't already, it might be worth addressing this with their doctor as well. Please keep us posted. All the best, Patty (Team Members)

Hi @janicemhall, you could try something like - I love the way you countersunk those screws for "x" project, can you show me how to do that? If he is handy, like my dad, those things will be like muscle memory for him, and maybe help him to feel like he is in control of the project. -Warmly, Donna (team member)

I find that music is a great way to move attention to other things. Something about singing works well here. Thanks for your thoughts. I wonder if others have found the same thing. Scott AlzheimersDisease.net Team Member
We sing Take Me Out To the Ballgame when it’s time for a bathroom visit or shower. He enjoys singing and it lifts his spirit.
