UCSD & UCLA Caregiver Research Study

Hi everyone! My name is Avery and I am a staff research associate at UC San Diego and we currently have an ongoing research study in collaboration in UCLA. The purpose of this study is to learn whether smartphones (iPhones) can be used to detect risk of developing a disease of the brain later in life in family caregivers of people living with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.

Participation in this study lasts about 2 months and would require downloading two apps on your device. The first app is a smartphone keyboard that tracks your cognition throughout the day based on your typing patterns (we will never collect the content of what you type). The second app is an app that asks you to complete weekly 5–10-minute assessments. Compensation for participating in the study is up to $100.

Some of the inclusion criteria include:
• Being the primary caregiver of a person living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
• 40 years or older
• Owner of an iPhone device
• Located in the United States

Attached is our study flyer is our IRB approved study research flyer. If interested, please feel free to contact either the UCSD or UCLA research team.
