Alzheimer's and Salsa Dancing

My sister, an active social worker who helped families of veterans solve many problems, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's a few years after retiring. During COVID, she and her husband were alone indoors, not actively involved with others to avoid getting sick. It was during that time that she was diagnosed and I think the lack of socialization made her condition worse. She's now in an assisted living facility but was dancing at an independent living facility prior and doing well. Music and dance is very important for Alzheimer's patients.

  1. Hi so many of our members say how important music and movement is. I hope she will be able to dance again at the assisted living facility. Jill (Team Member)

    1. I hope they will reconsider. It would be such a benefit to everyone that lives there. Keep us posted, I really hope they will add this. Jill (Team Member)

    2. , that would be amazing, and very enjoyable for the residents. Music seems to strike a chord (no pun intended) with many Alzheimer's patients, and many enjoy dance. Please let us know how it goes! - Warmly, Donna (Team Member)
