Dementia?

After the last five years ending in my Dad passing July 2024 with Alz., and my Mom has definitely exhibited symptoms of dementia and is in Hospice care; I am concerned about my husband ( age 63). His memory is not good. He needs written lists for short trips to Grocery store. He has left his smart phone in places 3 times, and gets confused easily. He was driving last night and made a turn in the opposite direction in a very familiar area. He often claims he's said something but he most definitely has not. It's making me concerned. At this point he denies any issue, but am watching him age rapidly- in every way.

  1. It can be a sign of dementia, but it is hard to tell without a professional evaluation. Maybe you can talk to his doctor and get him checked, since it is better to know sooner than later. I am sorry you are going through this, especially after everything with your parents.

    1. Thanks, yes. I am going to broach the subject soon when I see he is having a good day- he is a Veteran dealing with chronic pain. I think he will listen.
